All you see in Japanese TV is Tokyo SkyTree – at Malls there are tons of Tokyo Sky Tree goodies – at the supermarket they are selling Tokyo Sky Tree bread and candies – so I may join the trend and share some Tokyo Sky Tree stuff too ^^

Of course I have seen it – actually, from some places its pretty hard not to notice it. Yesterday they were talking on TV from what distance can be seen, reaching the distance of 81 km from ground view.

TOKYO SKYTREE is designed in an original color, “SKYTREE White”, representing harmony with the surrounding scenery, its name and the design concept: “The creation of city scenery transcending time: A fusion of traditional Japanese beauty and neo-futuristic design”.

There are 2 lighting styles. “Iki”, the spirit of Edo, and “Miyabi”, its aesthetics, that operate alternately. They express the concept that ‘today’ is connected to ‘tomorrow’, and, beyond tomorrow expands the ‘future’. The incorporation of designs inheriting Edo scenery reflects the history and culture of Shitamachi, the downtown area.
Tiene dos tipos de iluminación. “Iki”, el espíritu de Edo, y “Miyabi”, su estética, que operan alternadamente. Expresan el concepto de “Hoy” conectado al “Mañana”, y más allá del mañana se expande el “Futuro”. La incorporación del diseño que alude al panorama del Edo refleja la historia y la cultura de Shitamachi, la zona en la que se encuentra.
“Kokoroiki”, the straightforward down-to-earth spirit of Edo commoners, is represented in the pale blue light with the motif of the water of Sumida River, which focuses on the center pillar “Shimbashira” of the tower. The tower stands tall and strong, exposing the inside of the structure. You can feel the stylishness and resoluteness of the people of Edo.
”Kokoroiki”, el espíritu de los mortales comunes de Edo, está representado con la luz suave azul como motivo del agua del río Sumida, que se enfoca en el centro de la torre “Shimbashira”. La torre se alza sublime y poderosa, exponiendo el interior de la estructura. Se puede sentir el estilo y lo decidido de la gente de Edo
“Miyabi”, the aesthetic sense, expresses an elegant and dignified image of the tower by showing its intricate steel structure. The theme color is Edo purple shining with a well-balanced sprinkle of gold foil-like lights.

The height of the TOKYO SKYTREE was originally specified at approximately 610m in the original project. However, it was planned from the beginning to be the world’s tallest free-standing broadcasting tower. After careful discussion and research on high-rise buildings that are being built around the world, it was finally decided on 634m, to become the tallest free-standing broadcasting tower in the world.
La altura de la TOKYO SKYTREE fue originalmente planeada para medir aproximadamente 610m. Sin embargo, desde el inicio estaba planeada como la torre de transmisión más alta del mundo. Después de discutirlo detalladamente y de investigar edificios altos que estaban siendo construidos alrededor del mundo, se decidió que sería de 634m, para así convertirse en la torre de transmisión más alta del mundo.
Thus, the 634m-high TOKYO SKYTREE was recognized by the Guinness World Records Company on November 17, 2011 as the tallest tower in the world.

The major role of TOKYO SKYTREE is transmission of digital terrestrial broadcasting. Digital terrestrial broadcasting has already been in use since December 2003 in the Kanto area, but due to the many tall buildings rising over 200m high in central Tokyo, it has become necessary to build a new tower higher than 600m for broadcasting transmission purposes.
El papel principal de la TOKYO SKYTREE es de antena de transmisión para TV digital terrestre. Este tipo de transmisión ya se usa en la región de Kanto desde el diciembre de 2003, pero a causa de la gran cantidad de edificios de más de 200m de alto en el centro de Tokyo, era necesario construir una torre más alta que 600m para poder transmitir correctamente.
Sorakara-chan is Tokyo SkyTree’s mascot which, literally translated, means “From the sky-chan.” Sorakara-chan is a girl with a star-shaped head hailing from the “Pointy Star” from which she scanned the universe using her favorite telescope. She apparently saw the 634 meter Sky Tree brightly piercing through the clouds, which enable her to find and visit Tokyo. Her clothes are imprinted with a design based on the framework of the Sky Tree itself.
Sorakara-chan es la mascota de Tokyo SkyTree que, traducido literalmente, significa “Desde el cielo-chan.” Sorakara-chan es una chica con cabeza en forma de estrella que proviene de la “Pointy Star” desde la que explora el universo con su telescopio favorito. Al parecer, vio la Tokyo SkyTree de 634 metros brillando y atravesando las nubes, lo que le permitió encontrar y visitar Tokyo. Su ropa está impresa con un diseño basado en el diseño de Tokyo SkyTree en sí.
